Job Description:

Three Rivers Community Action is a well-established nonprofit organization serving four counties in southeastern Minnesota. The organization provides a wide array of housing, community development, early childhood, transportation, older adult, and energy programs and services.

Three Rivers is seeking a Director to oversee the organizations financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, preparing financial statement, auditing, and compliance. The Director supervises an experienced team of accounting professionals.

The Director is a member of the organizations leadership team that is responsible for planning, developing and implementing policy for the organization. In addition to the requirements below, the ideal candidate will be able to manage several priorities simultaneously and seek collaborative solutions to complex problems. A sense of humor is a plus. The position is full time with generous benefits. Salary range is $100,000 - $115,000. EOE/ADA

TASK LIST:
Management of organization's financial records
Lead department with high quality systems for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting and complianceOversee organizations internal controls to comply with standard accounting principlesEnsure financial compliance with all applicable federal, state, grant and partnership regulations and requirementsMonitor and maintain contracts, grants files and required reportingPrepare and monitor organizations annual operating budgetPrepare and coordinate organizations annual financial statements, audit, IRS 990, and Form 5500Monitor, provide financial oversight, and coordinate audits and tax returns for the organizations housing partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies.Monitor and maintain organizations commercial business insuranceMonitor and maintain organization's Financial Procedures ManualMonitor and maintain organizations investmentsMaintain appropriate communication with funding sourcesReport financial information to organization's Board of Directors

Supervision
Lead fiscal department, including planning and staffingSupervise a team of 4-6 accounting/fiscal staffLead department strategy, problem solving and conflict resolutionEnsure teams Personal goal setting and annual evaluations

Program Support
Assist directors with development of program budgetsAssist in development of budgeting for new programsMonitor program budgets

Organizational Leadership
Serve as a member of organizations leadership team to develop and implement organizational policies and proceduresProvide financial reports and policies to board of directors for review and approvalWork with Executive Director on the development and monitoring of the organizations financial projectionsAttend and represent the organization at various meeting as needs dictate

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in accounting and minimum five years of progressive experience in accounting. CMA desired, CPA preferred. Strong accounting skills, that include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial statements, financial reports, budgeting, and compliance. Nonprofit fund accounting experience preferred. Ability to understand and comply with government regulations. Experience with monitoring and implementing internal controls to assure proper compliance with accounting principles. Experienced supervisor with demonstrated ability to lead a team. Highly ethical, with ability to maintain confidentiality and protect private information. Effective communicator. Extensive organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks. Self-motivated, confident individual with ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to solve problems, identify new solutions and adapt to changing priorities.
