Title of Position: Chief of Staff

BACKGROUND

Employees of The CFO Group become key managers and executives of their clients, as contract employees, whereby they work with two or more clients simultaneously. In such capacity they provide key on-going or project-based deliverables across a wide range of areas including finance, strategy, streamlined operations, systems, human resources, budgeting ... providing or supplementing in-house expertise or assisting during peak periods. This position reports to the firm's President. The main objective for this position is to increase the productivity and effectiveness of the President, through the management and prioritization of projects of key personnel as well as directly performing certain client projects. Work experience in software development, medical device industry, an interest in finance / accounting, and sound, logical judgement lead to success in this role.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Directing client projects for The CFO Group's President;
  • Keep projects of the President's direct-reports on-point, on-schedule and of high-quality; provide guidance; remove hurdles;
  • Continuously consider the cost / benefit of project scope; and coordinate with managers on this perspective;
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of third-part projects - such as with client partners and vendors, the health ministries of other countries, lawyers, etc.
  • Act as point of contact for President with certain managers and other stakeholders;

Direct responsibility for designing and executing some client projects as well as recurring programs;

Responsible for writing various guidance documents for consistency;

Accompany President in meetings related to the above as needed - to best understand and document action items and achieving team deliverables;

Keep President focused on his highest priorities, as needed;

Other projects and objectives as assigned from time-to-time;

DIRECT REPORTS AND ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

No direct reports for this position, though influence over both employee and client personnel via your good work and close workings with the President is envisioned. The initial title of this position, Executive Administrator or Chief of Staff, will depend on your experiences and skill-set;

  • Excellent time management skills, with demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to draft meaningful, comprehensive yet streamlined email
  • Accounting and finance experience a plus

Work Experiences
  • Demonstrated skill in supporting higher-level executives
  • Responsible for multiple tasks simultaneously, in a variety of departments
  • Experience with one or more of the following - 1) researching challenging issues then determining successful solutions; 2) managing complex programs; 3) cross-department experiences with continual deadlines; 4) writing important documents, ranging from contracts, procedures, policies, letters and findings reports.

Education and Experience
  • BA or BS Degree, Masters a plus
  • Engineering, project management, human resources or accounting experience a plus
  • Minimum of five years of increasing responsibility with relevant senior executives
  • High-paced and deadline driven environments
  • Experience working across all levels of an organization
  • Extensive experience using computers and varied applications
