About the Role

As a leader in our organization, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our compensation and benefits programs. This is a permanent position that offers excellent growth opportunities and the chance to make a significant impact on our organization.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Total Rewards and People Operations, this focused and detail-oriented individual will oversee not only the implementation of all functions, but also the strategic design of payroll controls, administration and related payroll, compensation, total rewards design, and long term-equity incentive compliance. By effectively collaborating with vendors, HR teammates, and other Legal, Finance, and accounting departments, will ensure that administration and management of all programs is appropriately handled without issue.

You'll Make a Difference By

Total Rewards:
  • Review current compensation programs; lead the proposal, development, and implementation of necessary changes to align with ARIAT's growing, global business
  • Develop job architecture and career pathing across ARIAT and within our businesses, considering the uniqueness of each business unit
  • Lead successful annual compensation planning including the execution of base salary, bonus, awards and all related communications and administration
  • Provide thought leadership to business units on compensation issues including new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, retention arrangements and compensation structure
  • In partnership with HR and Finance, establish compensation budgets and guidelines for global locations. Establish and maintain alignment between performance management and succession planning processes and pay programs
  • Review and advise on commission, sales incentive and other variable compensation plans as required for changing business demands and operating model Executive Compensation
  • Oversee design and administration of stock compensation plans with a focus on retention and meaningful rewards, balanced with fiduciary responsibility
  • In partnership with legal counsel, coordinate preparation of executive compensation disclosure information required in the proxy statement's Compensation Discussion and Analysis Global Benefits Programs
  • Lead the design, annual planning, and implementation of the company's global benefit programs, including health and welfare, 401(k)/retirement, voluntary benefits and wellness initiatives
  • Establish standard policies for administration and communication of all benefit programs
  • Lead the design, annual planning, and administration of the company's global benefit programs, including absence management, health and welfare, 401(k)/retirement, and well-being programs.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of all aspects of Total Rewards globally
  • Proven track record of delivering compensation and benefit strategies

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders; consultative and collaborative style that allows for influence without authority
  • Extraordinary communication skills - both verbal and written
  • SAP SuccessFactors and ADP experience strongly preferred
  • Broad working knowledge of automatic processes and optimizing systems to manage internal and external stakeholder needs effectively
  • Technologically Proficient, especially with Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications.

Payroll (US & Canada)
  • Manage and guarantee accuracy of semi-monthly, bi-weekly and weekly disbursement of multi-state and multi-country (US & Canada) payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to Ariat employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
  • Supervise payroll staff of approx. 10 employees
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, tax procedures, and systems in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Audit W-2s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
  • Communicate actively with Operations, HR and Billing departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
  • Partner with other HR groups to foster improvements in day-to-day processes
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Serve as principal point of contact for escalated payroll operational issues
  • Make data driven decision utilizing reporting tools, having the ability to analyze, interpret, and react to the payroll data
  • Lead activities for large, high complexity projects, providing project management, change management, and best practice expertise
  • Measure daily output against weekly, monthly, and quarterly department goals.
  • Cultivate the perception of a trusted partner and strategic advisor, while demonstrating a full business understanding amongst stakeholders
  • Coordinate efforts between Payroll and Human Resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Maintain business relationships and effective communication between all facets of Financial Operations, Human Resources, Recruitment, and Sales teams
  • Establish processes and policies that are in line with organizational and operational goals to maximize efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to create increased efficiencies that reduce risks and enhance operations

About You
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and delivery of total rewards programs.
  • 5+ years of experience building, leading, and managing a team of compensation professionals within a fast-paced, high-growth global environment.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience owning and developing total rewards processes.
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating all components of compensation to include job evaluations, benchmarking, survey participation, pay equity analysis, and base and incentive pay administration.
  • Expert analytical capabilities, with the ability to understand and simplify complex sets of data.
  • A strong capability to foster a collaborative environment, promoting cross functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • A natural ability to influence, inspire, and motivate others, fostering a sense of shared purpose and alignment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and coordinate efforts across functional teams to meet project objectives.
  • Accomplished a successful HRIS upgrade or transition.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws that impact total rewards.
  • In-depth experience leading a Global + US focal compensation planning cycle
  • Strong experience building technology strategy, designing technology solutions, and working with People Technology to deploy solutions.
  • Experience with big data and interfacing between HRIS applications, solid financial and compensation modeling skills and ability to communicate with business partners to resolve highly complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, design and recommend market competitive programs aligned to business strategy.
  • Work regularly and comfortably with high-level individual contributors and leaders across multiple functions. Track record of influencing at the senior leadership level.
  • Ability to manage change effectively always mindful of technology and business process implications.
  • Ability to perform complex functions in Excel

The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000 per year.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations.
