Job Description:

The Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible for strategic planning to attract, motivate, and retain top talent through competitive compensation and benefits, as well as wellness initiatives. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure that the Total Rewards strategy aligns with the company's business objectives and supports a positive work culture. This role also performs analytical work supporting job evaluation and compensation programs, including responsibility for consulting on job descriptions and completing and analyzing competitive pay data.


This role is a key part of the Total Rewards team and works on cross-function initiatives with health and welfare benefits management.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manages all daily administrative responsibility of 401 (k) plan inclusing deferral updates, payroll, funding, HRIS maintenance, beneficiary updates, etc.

  • Explains and communicates retirment benefit plan policies, procedures and legal requirements to new hires and all eligible employees.

  • Conducts retirement and benefits-related calculations and reporting.

  • Manages annual non-discrimination testing and annual 401(k) audit.

  • Designs and implements competitive pay structures and compensation ranges.

  • Develops, updates, and communicates compensation policies and procedures.

  • Provides guidance to HR and management on compensation-related matters.

  • Conducts market analysis to ensure the organization's pay practices are competitive and fair.

  • Works alongside Benefits Specialist on employee Wellness initiatives.

  • Evaluates jobs including the compilation of competitive pay data for like benchmarks using a web-based tool, PayFactors. Recommends placement in company base salary structure based on market data, internal comparisons and other factors.

  • Leads and manages critical projects, internally and in partnership with third-party vendors.

  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to compensation.

  • Performs other related work as required.




EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
:




  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in business administration, human resources or related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience, including experience in retirement plans, compensation, HR systems and data analytics; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Experience in the total rewards/benefits is preferred.




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:





  • Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing employment, compensation, benefit and other HR programs.

  • General knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures within all HR disciplines.

  • Advanced Excel and HR systems aptitude required.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Mathematical skills and strong attention to detail; proven accuracy with data and numbers.

  • Knowledge of common competitive pay benchmarking practices and resources.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
