Come and Grow with a Leader in the Industry... PumpMan has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join our team located in Troy, IL, to build PumpMan's presence in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a safe workplace.
Manage the Profit and Loss statement for the location.
Create & implement strategies for business growth leveraging existing customer relationships while also identifying opportunities with new customers in the residential, commercial, municipal and residential water and wastewater markets.
Manage vendor relationships associated with the location's line-card to ensure personnel are properly trained, that OEM programs are optimized and the location has the right package of vendors to meet the needs of customers' in the regional market.
Lead, develop or hire a technically competent team that meets and exceeds the technical requirements of our customers and vendors.
Put in place a disciplined management process to maximize sales and service productivity.
Coordinate and provide oversight to equipment sales or service work to ensure all work is performed to specifications and exceed the quality expectations of our clients.
Attend job-walks, meet customers, and gather information necessary for estimators and sales to properly bid on new Projects.
Participate in Bid Processes by assembling all necessary Forms, Material Data, Bonds, Insurance documents, Transmittals, and related bid components within the specified submission time.
Win new jobs and develop new customers.
Review job costs, analyze productivity and efficiencies of technicians and other staff identifying any issues for correction or future reference for improvement.
Expand the aftermarket service and repair business by expanding/developing the service technician workforce, increasing customer engagement and expanding the services offered to customers in the region.
Coordinate and participate in regular safety training (in-house, by contracted 3rd party safety company, and for field tailgate meetings).
Mentoring field employees to gain their trust and cooperation.
Other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Deep experience in the water, wastewater, contracting, construction, or industrial service industries preferred.
Technical college degree, relevant Trade School certifications or demonstrated success earned from on-the-job experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems or construction/contracting experience with pumps, and motor control knowledge is a plus.
Proficient with typical Microsoft office and Adobe.
An understanding of a profit and loss statement with knowledge of how pricing and estimating affect the P&L.
Experience with a manufacturer's representative in the water and wastewater industries preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience with Mechanical systems, service, maintenance, or sales, preferably in a managerial position.
Compensation/Benefits:
$125,000- $150,000
