An industry leading manufacturing company is currently seeking an EHS Engineer to oversee their facility in the New Haven, CT area.
The incumbent will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures as well as leading risk assessments, safety training and incident investigations.
The Role:
Leading EHS and regulatory compliance at the site; as well as leading training, assisting with EHS program implementation, accident investigation, risk assessments and audits.
Serve as the subject matter expert for all health and safety programs, initiatives, metrics and goals.
Work with plant leadership to reinforce a positive safety culture and engagement.
Monitors changes to EHS regulations and makes recommendations to incorporate these into EHS management systems and standards.
The Candidate:
Minimum of 5 years' EHS experience within a manufacturing environment
B.S. in Environmental or Safety Sciences, Engineering, or related technical field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to successfully work independently and communicate effectively with corporate EHS Manger as well senior site management.
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the environment, health and safety guidelines and regulations, a good working knowledge of health and safety engineering.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
