University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:

• University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Spring.


• Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 12-24 week period starting August or September. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.

Primary Function of Position:

The System Test function is responsible for Verification Testing of surgical robots. The primary function of this position is to design, develop, and execute test protocols for functional SW verification for intricate robotic surgical systems. This function will report to a System Test Engineering manager.
Qualifications
Roles & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and execution of test protocols for functional SW and User Interface verification for intricate robotic surgical systems.


• Contribute to design documentation for test protocols, results and reports and complete requirement tracing for all requirements using Polarion.


• Logging and debugging issues within the issue tracking system.


• Develop tests and scripts using Python that automate the testing process at a system level.


• Learn the elements of the SW build process to effectively execute, monitor and troubleshoot as necessary.


• Improve automatic testing and develop the next iteration of automatic script-based testing.


• Work with Clinical and SW teams to debug User Interface issues.

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

• Current enrollment in a Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering or relevant Engineering degree-seeking program at the Bachelor's level. Master's level students will also be considered based on specific relevant experience.


• Ability to write and execute effective test plans and protocol development is preferred.


• Familiarity with scripting language, preferably Python for generation of automated tests.


• Prefer familiarity with Human Factors and User Interface Testing.


• Must work very well in a collaborative, fast paced and information environment, and will thrive under the pressure of doing something meaningful and needed.


• Troubleshooting mind set.


• Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.


• Capability of participating in all aspects of Design Control.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay (paid at an hourly rate), benefits, and a housing allowance. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including relevant skills and experience for this internship, degree-seeking academic program (PhD, Master's, Bachelor's, etc), year in school, and location. The hourly rate is prorated against the intern program salaries listed and total program compensation will be based on internship duration.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $63,000 USD - $94,500 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $53,600 USD - $80,400 USD
