Job Description:

Ardurra seeks an experienced CAD Technician to join our team.


Primary Function: Candidate would use CAD equipment/software to provide support to engineers by setting up CADD projects for process mechanical exhibits for reports and design drawings for construction. Specific drawing types would include routine process instrumentation diagrams, hydraulic profiles, mechanical room plans, equipment layouts, mechanical sections, piping plans and sections, isometric drawings, and standard details. Project types for which drawings would be developed include Process Mechanical construction (primarily water treatment, wastewater treatment, and pumping stations) associated with civil, water process, and environmental development and municipal projects, civil/mechanical improvements to treatment facilities or industrial projects, etc. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction.


Primary Duties:



  • Responsible for setting up and managing CADD projects.

  • Design of CADD process mechanical plans and sections, design dimensional layouts for equipment and process piping, and drafting requirements of any project assigned.

  • Responsible for CADD projects, plotting, quality control, and checking complete sets of drawings.

  • Make required modifications to drawings on any project.

  • Candidates should have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology and construction drawings.

  • Candidate should possess water process mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.

  • Technical capacity and ability to visualize civil, structural, and mechanical elements in 2-D and 3-D viewpoints and capable of designing / drafting in 2-D software and 3-D modeling in Revit or similar software.

  • Good communication & collaboration skills.

  • Problem solving and analysis skills.

  • Responsible for batching sets of drawings and associated documentation.

  • Assistance with production development, including the printing and binding of plans packages.

  • Assisting in establishing/improving CADD standards and utilizing these standards to minimize hours required.

  • Will perform other duties as may be assigned by Area CADD Manager.


Technical Responsibilities



  • Prepare and manage CADD projects from preliminary to final drawings, mechanical equipment layouts, plans, sections, profiles and exhibits from engineering sketches, verbal instructions, specifications and supporting documentation according to latest company, industry and client standards using AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation.

  • Assist Engineers with collecting field data and applying it to design drawing and exhibits

  • Ensure accuracy of drawings and maintain production schedules

  • Work with other CADD Technicians and Engineers and be part of a design team

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to communicate with team members

  • Maintain soft and hard copies of all project related documents per the company filing system.

  • Research, understand, and apply published CADD and Design standards applicable to work assignments

  • Assist staff and management as a technical specialist with other duties as assigned.

  • Effective oral and written communications skills.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate team members and other staff.



    Experience Required



    • Requires 10+ years progressive experience in civil, water process, and environmental development and municipal projects, as well as civil/mechanical improvements to treatment facilities. 

    • Remote opportunity for qualified candidate.


    Education Level Desired



    • High School Diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training as outlined above. Associates Degree is desirable.

    • Engagement in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
