Clerk 1 - Front Desk Receptionist

Essential Function:



Provide general support to the Adult Education Department.


Report to the Dean of Adult Education and the Dean's Secretary.

Qualifications:




Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.



Skills:

Applicant must be able to speak fluently one of the following languages: Spanish, Polish, or Ukranian.

Responsibilities:



1. Greet all students and visitors to the Adult Education Department, in person and on the telephone, and direct to the appropriate staff.


2. Provide information and answer student inquiries regarding ESL, GED, Literacy classes and general Adult Education Services, in person and on the telephone.


3. Schedule student appointments for testing as directed by Dean, Directors, and Student Success Strategists.


4. Monitor department voicemail. Update greeting as necessary. Log and respond to or redirect voicemail messages as appropriate.


5. Assist Student Success Strategists, and directors in contacting students as necessary.


6. As needed file student information records, mid-term progress reports, final exams and other information in student files.


7. Make copies and provide general administrative support as needed to Adult Education staff.


8. Assist in registration activities.


9. Direct students to classes and other campus location as requested.


10. Distribute mail to staff and instructors.


11. Maintain record of daily activities.


12. Other duties as assigned.

1. Rate of pay of $17 per hour, maximum 28 hours per week.


2. Official transcripts required prior to employment.


3. Recommended candidate for hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings.
