HOW YOU WILL SOAR:

The Temp Benefits Specialist will report to the Benefits Manager in the Human Resources department. This role is responsible for assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, maintaining the benefits database, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. The ideal incumbent will have a strong attention to detail, be client oriented and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, dental, vision, accident, student loan repayment, disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Answer new hire benefits questions and support the benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Process all qualifying life events and benefit election updates.
  • Ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Work with Payroll to process benefits catch-up payments and payment corrections.
  • Administer COBRA.
  • Monitor the Benefits Inbox and provide primary support.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator.
  • Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Assist with benefits reporting requirements and compliance related requests.
  • Update the Benefits Page on the Millennium Trust Communications Hub/Intranet.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of key employment laws including federal and state regulations.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Goal orientated with a sense of urgency to complete tasks accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with the corporate culture, standards, best practices, policies, procedures, and government law.
  • Superb organization and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and follow through skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Other Requirements:

  • Infrequent travel.

    • Ability to provide personal transportation from time to time.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
