About the Role

Essity’s Health and Medical Solutions North America team is looking for an experienced Clinical Trainer - Orthopedics. This role will be responsible for providing clinical expertise to customers through education and training on Essity line of orthopedic products, while establishing and maintaining solid customer relationships. This person must understand customer needs across all segments to ensure that they clearly recognize a measurable value to our programs. This role's primary focus will be providing clinical education to current and potential customers, provide internal training to hospital sales reps., set up trials and conversions, and support industry trade shows.  This position reports to the National Clinical Director.

This role will cover the Mid-West Coast Territories and the ideal candidate should live within this region.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. “Fully vaccinated” means two weeks have passed from the last injection of primary series.  You will also need to comply with customer/client requirements which may include boosters for access to client premises or to maintain compliance with credentialing.

What You Will Do


  • Provide expert clinical consultation primarily within defined territory with the understanding that travel may be required within the United States as needed.


  • Provide relevant presentations to medium and large customer groups or regional & National Health care shows live or in a web share format.


  • Work in collaboration with Account Managers and National Key Account Manager to provide relevant education.


  • Support ongoing education in accounts.


  • Coordinate and facilitate educational rollouts for new and existing customers.


  • Leverage industry knowledge with customers to be seen as the trusted category specialist.


  • Work with Clinical Director to roll out new clinical programs and educational content.


  • Support Account Managers and KAMs in presentations to validate Essity’s educational offerings


  • Identify opportunities to advance customer outcomes.


  • Maintain all organizational processes (CRM system, Expense Management System, etc…).


  • Participate in personal skill development and the clinical skill development of others.


  • Operate in a manner consistent with Essity’ s beliefs and behaviors: Commitment, Courage, Collaboration, and Care


  • Perform other essential responsibilities as deemed necessary.


  • Promote and roll out educational programs in keeping with company strategy and direction


  • Daily documentation of activities in CRM


Who You Are


  • Bachelor's Degree and/or healthcare certification in related field


  • Three to Five (5) years of experience in the healthcare industry.


  • Requires ability to workday/night shifts, as needed.


  • Usual workdays are Monday – Friday, but must be able to work on the weekend as needed for tradeshows, special educational events, or travel requirements.


  • OTC and/or ATC certification required


  • Three to Five (5) years of experience working in an Orthopedic practice working as an Orthopedic Technician or Emergency Room Nurse/Technician


  • Splinting and Casting application at EXPERT level.


  • Strong customer focus and relationship building


  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)


  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams


  • Strong analytical skills to be able to determine root cause for clinical fluctuations


  • Proven organizational & collaborative skills


  • Ability to manage time and priorities to meet deadlines


  • Strong presentation skills


  • TRAVEL: Ability and willingness to travel 80% to domestic locations


  • The ability to drive a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license is required. 


  • Live within Western Half of the United States near a major hub airport

Compensation and Benefits

Expected Compensation

$75,000 - $85,000/annual salary + sales incentive + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors such as knowledge, skills, and experience.
