JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Java) to join our growing team in the Digitization initiatives in North America Commercial Insurance and Major Markets space. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing new software and web applications as well as maintain existing applications. You will be both hands-on engineer, leveraging your technical expertise to drive solution development, and team lead, guiding teams of software engineers to build scalable and resilient systems at an enterprise level. With us, you'll put your strong background in architecture, design thinking , risk mitigation, seamless execution, strong relationship management and effective communication skills into practice every day as you partner with business architecture and enterprise architecture teams to deliver best in class software solutions to accelerate the digitization of our growing line of business.

In this role, you will:

• Work in an Agile environment and participate in story refinement, estimation and delivery, as well as project/program definition and estimation
• Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and hands-on guidance with regards to technical practices, procedures, and techniques
• Serve as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Engineers, as well as lead for our consultant teams
• Participate in issue triaging, solving and release deployment
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA throughout the organization to seek opportunities for increasing automation
• Partner with security and infrastructure teams to remediate vulnerabilities and end-of-life software/hardware
