Job Description:

The Production Artist is responsible for carrying out the execution of design concepts and ad templates for multiple mediums and channels while adhering to the organization's brand standards.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

The Production Artist is responsible for carrying out the execution of design concepts and ad templates for multiple mediums and channels while adhering to the organization's brand standards. Has technical knowledge of print and digital design as well as printing processes, production standards, etc. The Production Artist will consult with the marketing team to ensure artwork is properly formatted to ensure quality standards are met and will troubleshoot problems with concepts and provide solutions for execution. Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and Marketing department. Implements, revises, and sustains policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 3 - 12 months.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Supports concept execution for various mediums through collaboration with the marketing team and other internal customers to understand business needs/objectives and translate them into functional visual assets for multiple platforms.

2. Utilize a library of pre-existing layouts, graphics, and designs to pull together drafts of copy for various marketing projects.

3. Curate(DJ2) graphics for print production including advertising, billboards, signage, collateral materials, referencing a strong understanding of the different executions for Digital (low resolution) and Traditional (high resolution) files and an understanding of the appropriate file type for each product.(JB3)(JB4)

4. Refine designs as needed; lend a critical eye to all creative, structural, and technical output ensuring final product meets brand standards and best practices. (if keep, then can remove #2).

5. May provide image retouching, clipping paths, and additional image manipulation. Proof files, preflight formatting - prepare graphics, fonts, layouts, and package files for output/upload and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production.

6. Assist with project management of design projects with multimedia team members, freelance designers and other vendors as needed. Works to ensure multiple projects are completed according to deadlines.

7. Archive files in our system per our processes, maintaining a strong organizational structure for all assets.

8. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.

9. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or senior coworker. Solves problems of moderate to advanced complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data and resolve issues.

10. Technical Skill: Understands and applies professional principles and skills within area of specialization to modify processes to resolve situations.

11. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill's community engagement initiatives and serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.

12. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience.

2. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of the complete Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite

3. Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, CSS, and media skills

4. Packaging, print production, typesetting and photography experience preferred.

5. Knowledge of project management, quality assurance and control, color editing, photo editing, saving, and scaling files in various formats necessary for printing production and execution.
