Your Role:

The Marketing Manager role will manage the proposal process from identification of opportunities through final submittal. This broad reaching role supports senior management in the evaluation process, ensures quality and consistency in the proposals submitted, interfaces with new and existing clients, attends select conferences, and orchestrates the proposal team in a streamlined purposeful manner.

Responsibilities

• Support development of capture plans and strategies and develop win themes,


  • Provide proposal support and management including developing proposal schedules; proposal outlines, formats, graphics, and styles; coordinating and scheduling status calls; and interfacing between various members of the proposal teams.
  • Prepare major sections of proposals, including but not limited to project descriptions and resumes tailored for specific proposal.
  • Perform compliance checks with RFP requirements for our proposals and SF 330s.
  • Prepare statements of qualifications (SOQs), brochures, and other marketing material.
  • Research and provide metrics, statistics, and other data needed for specific proposals.
  • Coordinate production (typing, graphics, technical editing, and reproduction)
  • Coordinate with and support all offices across the Operating Unit, including potentially traveling to other office locations.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Business Development (Pasadena, CA) for multi operating unit proposals.
  • Assist technical leads with oral presentation preparation when shortlisted on opportunities, prepare presentation materials, posters and similar graphics.
  • Enter opportunities into our corporate-wide electronic proposal tracking/Organization Conflict of Interest system.
  • Create/support/manage/query data such as resumes, project descriptions, proposals, and other project/marketing material from our data repositories.
  • Attend select industry-related conferences to market services and schedule follow-up meetings for technical staff.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

The successful candidate must have the following demonstrated qualifications and experience:

• Independent self-starter.

• Creative and technical writer able to prepare documents with minimal direction and revisions by others.

• Must have a technical understanding of engineering and environmental consulting.

• Ability to coordinate and lead multiple action items simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.

• Ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, graphics, and support personnel.

• Ability to innovate when envisioning potential graphics, color choices, and cover designs that would enhance our proposals and presentations.

Education & Experience:

• B.S. in Marketing, Sciences, engineering, or related environmental field is required

• 15 years of directly applicable experience in a similar role is required.

• Experience managing the marketing or proposal development function in the environmental consulting and engineering industry.

• Must have experience preparing Federal proposals and SF330 development.

• Communications, Editing, Graphics certifications, or Journalism experience preferred but not required.

• Experience with client opportunity software/tracking portals, federal, state and local is required.

• Experience accessing and tracking opportunities through the use of SAM.gov, Demand Star, or other similar portals is required.

• Experience with client management software is preferred.

The position allows for work from home however, routine visits to offices are required to collaborate with staff as needed based and office work at the direction of your supervisor. Occasionally, the employee may be required to travel via air or land. Trips may be several days or more in length. Because of the short turnaround time on proposals/SF330s, work on weekends and evenings may occasionally be necessary to meet deadlines. Candidate must be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid drivers' license in good standing. Travel required may be up to 25%.

Language & Communication Skills:

Must be fluent in the English language reading, writing, and speaking. Must have the ability to read, analyze, interpret, and summarize technical documents such as reports, tables, spreadsheets, and databases. Must be able to write clear and concise sections of proposals and marketing materials. Must be able to speak effectively with coworkers, internal proposal managers, and external clients.

Mathematical Skills:

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Other Skills:

Must have ample organizational skills, ability to manage time-critical situations to fulfill deadline requirements, and strong ability to work in team situations.

Must be able to search for pertinent facts and data, analyze and evaluate information, and form accurate conclusions.

Experience with various software for the development of client proposals and deliverables not limited to but including Adobe; InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop; Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project.
