The IU Research Data Commons, through partner Irsay Institute, is looking to hire an entry-level front-end web developer to help create an easily navigable set of resources across IU campuses related to research data. The mission of the Research Data Commons, a new initiative of IU Research, is to support production, sharing, and collaboration around research data across the university.
Job Summary
Works closely with the product owner to translate design into front-end code using primarily the HTML and CSS provided by the IU Rivet Design System.
Constructs new components using Rivet plus HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Builds new site sections using the preceding via the Hugo static site generator's templating language.
Qualifications

EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
4 years of web services or related experience
SKILLS
Required
Proficient communication skills
Ability to read and code in HTML, CSS, JS.
Proficient in basic programming concepts (e.g., loops, conditionals, design patterns)
Understanding of web standards, policy, and user experience (UX)
Preferred
Experience working with a static site generator (e.g., Hugo, Jekyll)
Experience with IU Rivet Design System (or similar framework)
Experience with Git and Github
Proficient in parsing relevant documentation for tools used and finding additional answers beyond those provided by the developers
