Position Overview:
This internship position will focus on a 3-month long project to improve and streamline the A/P (Accounts Payable) process within the Service business unit. As a part of this project, the intern will analyze root causes for aging A/P invoices and potential issues preventing timely payment. With this analysis, as well as reviewing input and data from stakeholders, the intern will propose recommendations to lean out and strengthen the end-to-end A/P process. The intern will also work to help resolve and troubleshoot invoices that are blocked for payment with the overall goal of reducing A/P backlog.
The SGRE Summer Intern Program is a 12-week program, kicking off on June 3, 2024, in Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities:
Processing of A/P invoices directly in SAP
Working with various stakeholders to troubleshoot A/P blocked payments
Correction of invoice postings
Review of A/P monthly accruals
Using SAP to conduct root-cause analyses of A/P issues
Performing vendor statement reconciliations
Meeting with vendors to communicate overall A/P status
Presenting overall project results to Management
In this role, the intern will work with the following stakeholders:
Purchase Order (PO) owners and requisitioners across Service
Central Accounting
Regional SE Management
3rd Party business providers
External vendors
Strategic and Tactical Procurement
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience and Abilities
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business, or other relevant field
Demonstrated ability to influence behavior and outcomes in a matrix organization where decision-making is not always clear
Understanding of how business choices can impact financial statements (e.g., the interplay between inventory and COS)
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
Past work experience in Supply Chain or a Supply Chain Finance organization is a plus
Working knowledge of Power BI, Alteryx or RPA is a plus
