About the Team



Our team designs and delivers end-to-end service experiences for our customers, members, and associates in- store and online. Our goal is to drive connectivity across our ecosystem to ensure our customers and members can move seamlessly between our digital and physical experiences and our associates can deliver great service at scale.


We are responsible for how our app comes to life in our stores along with our auto care, mobile, recurring revenue, and made-to-order experiences. We also design key in-store environments to continually elevate our core shopping experience. The Director, User Experience - Walmart+ Membership, will play a strategic role in creating the vision, delivering detailed designs, and stewarding this team's work through to execution.


In this role, you'll employ your great strengths in storytelling to present your vision and product design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to the wider team. You will work with partners to determine a shared plan forward that balances business and technology considerations while championing and stewarding the ideal experience for customers, members, and associates.

• A strong strategic mindset and a systems-thinking approach.


• Experience as a visual and service designer responsible for delivering delightful and engaging experiences that communicate and celebrate customer value propositions along the marketing funnel (acquisition, retention, engagement, etc.).


• Skills as a change maker who is not afraid to think big and challenge the status quo.


• Excellent visual and interaction design skills and a keen understanding of trends in the marketplace - in and out of retail.


• Adept with design tools, and engages deeply in the details of the work, while inspiring and empowering designers to deliver beautiful, thoughtful solutions for our customers.


• Ability to communicate concepts in a clear and compelling way to audiences of all levels of understanding and levels of seniority.


• Track record of shipping high impact products in a fast-moving and changing environment - one that celebrates experimentation, iteration, and shipping.


• Experience leading product design process and building strong cross-functional partnerships.


• Ability to produce great work in short timeframes, multitask across different projects and platforms and adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business.


• Deep experience with business requirement gathering, end-to-journey mapping, facilitating sessions like Design Sprints, conducting competitive analysis, and leading rapid concepting and prototyping. Champion of a design philosophy that is inclusive of all people.

Driving and holding others accountable to create experiences that celebrate and empower our end- users.


• Proactively soliciting, leveraging, and sharing design research, competitive research, data, and analytics to create full-featured and strategic products.


• Fostering a maker mindset so teams can iterate and experiment collaboratively in order to challenge the status quo, drive new thinking, and improve processes for creating future-forward product experiences.


• Thinking holistically so that we build true end-to-end experiences. Switching gears from deep design thinking to rapid-fire execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Business, Communications, Fine Arts, or related field and 10+ years of experience in Product Design or related field.


• 3+ years of experience building and leading high performing teams. 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams.

3 years' supervisory experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00


Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.


Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:


- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)


- Stock equity incentives
