Holland Hall seeks an experienced, full-time Stationary Engineer. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks, facility safety inspections, and regular clean up and maintenance tasks as assigned in conjunction with the overall purpose of Holland Hall.

JOB DUTIES

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the employee in this position will perform routine maintenance functions to include but not limited to:


  • Operate boilers, chillers and associated machinery.


  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC, kitchen and mechanical equipment.


  • Repair, replace and service: vfd’s, motors, bearings and belt alignment on related equipment.


  • Re-lamp light fixtures and replace ballasts.


  • Cleaning and maintaining boilers, chillers, and air handler rooms.


  • Energy management scheduling on building automation systems.


  • Performing regular facility inspections of such items as fire sprinkler systems, pressured systems, and isolation valves.


  • Inspecting building areas for compliance with local building and fire regulations.


  • Inspection and repairs of exterior lighting and plumbing fixtures.


  • Inspection and maintenance of emergency generator systems and lighting.


  • Driving a class B or C bus as needed for school functions.


  • Ability to safely operate a lift and other equipment.


  • Assist in moving furniture and equipment as needed.


  • Other duties as required to fulfill the overall purpose of Holland Hall.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND


  • A high school graduate or GED.


  • A City of Tulsa First class limited engineer license.


  • A class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.

PREVIOUS RELATED EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum of five years of experience in preventative maintenance and a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment systems and terminology.


  • Ability to follow and obey safety rules and practices.


  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, floor plans, and mechanical drawings.


  • Good organizational skills and the ability to handle several projects at the same time.


  • Good written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to function in a private school atmosphere.


  • Ability to work with various school and volunteer organizations.


  • Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Workday regularly includes multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines and time pressures. Must be willing to work different shifts as needed.


  • Ability to lift 50-80 pounds when necessary.


  • Work requires considerable physical effort and manual dexterity in both hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time.


  • Able to work in inclement weather if necessary.


  • Good close, distance, and color vision and depth perception.


  • Other activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
