What You Will Contribute:




The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, and learning an exciting career in the trades! The goal of this program is to develop a high school student while they finish their diploma and then transition them to full time career after high school graduation.


Badger Meter is hiring an Assembler Intern. The Assembler Intern is responsible for assembling parts according to specified work instructions and/or drawings. This intern will be given the opportunity to rotate throughout the facility in a variety of assembly tasks. The Assembler intern will experience challenging opportunities, hands-on technical projects, interaction with staff, and the operations of a manufacturing organization.



Essential Job Duties:



  • Participate in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost continuous improvement efforts


  • Use Production system to record order activity, view work instructions and report completed work


  • Learn to use basic tools to complete assemblies, and printing programs to complete customer orders


  • Use detailed instructions with drawings to complete assemblies and finished products


  • Learn to operate arbor presses or riveting machines to perform fastening operations on assembly line


  • Record test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used


  • Test products to verify that they meet specifications


  • Record scraps transactions due to assembly problems


  • Additional projects, tasks, and/or assignments as assigned





Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a High School diploma (Freshman, sophomore or juniors)


  • Intermediate in computer/technical skills in Microsoft products





Working Conditions:



  • Depending on the assigned department, must complete an audiogram test
