We are seeking a driven, creative candidate to join Loper as User Growth Lead and optimize user acquisition for our mobile app. You will collaborate directly with Loper's founding team as the first non-technical hire and will shape the company's strategy for widespread mobile adoption. Your focus will be on building sustainable organic and paid acquisition channels, although part of your job will involve direct input on product decisions to promote virality and user retention. This full-time role is right for someone with the talent, passion, and empathy to grow from 0 to 1 with a founding team.
We have a strong preference for candidates willing to relocate to Chicago within 3 months of starting.
Responsibilities
Determine Loper's internal user growth KPIs in collaboration with co-founders and ensure continuous MoM user growth
Own Loper's organic social media presence and paid advertising on these channels
Manage marketing content on Loper's website, including product previews that can drive app downloads
Develop scalable localized acquisition strategies to support Loper's sales efforts
Build Loper's student network to coordinate growth initiatives
Oversee company-led and affiliate scholarships
Build and execute advocacy in Loper's educator, parent and student communities via newsletters, demos, presentations, and other community-building tactics
Inform product features that accelerate Loper's adoption and promote increased on-app engagement
Support with user interviews, content acquisition, and engaging stakeholders beyond HS users like parents, counselors, adult learners, and current college students
Use a growth stack including Braze, Hubspot, an MMP, social apps, social ads dashboards, Canva, and Loom to accomplish your role
Note: As a part of this role, you may be expected to travel intermittently for events and conferences supporting Loper's user growth.
Role Requirements
2+ years working experience in a strategic marketing role (ideally for a pre-Series A and/or free consumer mobile app)
Working experience managing a full end-to-end marketing funnel
Strong foundation in analytics, data reporting, and results-oriented decision making
Experience managing a business or personal brand's social media account
Experience with social media paid ads dashboards
Active, attentive, and curious social media user
Strong written and verbal communication skills for external outreach
Passion for educational access and Loper's company mission
Enthusiasm to become a product expert
Desire to operate in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to adapt to shifting role requirements and business priorities
Growth mindset and desire for self-improvement
Experience creating structure and process to independently manage your own work

Preferred Experience
2+ years experience marketing to Gen Z or a teenage population
Experience managing traditional SEO, programmatic SEO, and ASO (app store optimization)
Experience writing and growing a newsletter
Content marketing experience on web and email
Experience building network effects to grow a marketplace
Comfortable using AI-powered productivity tools with your day-to-day work
Experience managing referral, loyalty, or ambassador programs
