JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Plant Controller, this role is responsible for supporting the plant operations function. Key responsibilities include setting and maintaining standard costs for multiple product lines; estimating product costs for new and existing products; investigating month-to-month variance in costs - standard vs current costs; reporting KPIs related to product costs and inventory; analyzing material and LOH variances; supporting cost reduction initiatives and annual forecasts/AOP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine and maintain standard costs and investigate month-to-month variance in product costs
  • Estimate product costs for new products and changes to existing products
  • Analyze material and LOH variances and resulting impact to product cost - standard vs current costs
  • Monitor, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product costs and inventory
  • Support Annual Operating Plan development and forecasting activities
  • Support continuous improvement projects and cost reduction efforts related to Blue Bird manufacturing.
  • Prepare timely reports and presentations to finance and operations management highlighting key financial insights
  • Support internal and external audits and Ad Hoc projects and analysis, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to reconcile large data sets and intermediate to advanced level skills in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence reporting tools
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex data to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers
  • Continuously perform to high ethical standards and those established from an Internal Controls/Legal perspective.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, Supply Chain or related field)
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
