Position Overview: Plans and coordinates the activities of a claims unit typically consisting of 6-8 casualty adjusters. The Claims Manager is responsible for the oversight, investigation, and appropriate resolution of claims focusing on casualty exposures. Supervises unit activity and ensures satisfactory delivery of claims services/products consistent with departmental expectations and standards. Must be knowledgeable, dependable, and able to lead a team in achieving goals and objectives while adhering to compliance regulations and company best practices. Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**): • Responsible for administrative, coaching and training functions of claim unit. • Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards and provides technical guidance as needed. • Responsible for specific goals and objectives consistent with departmental expectations. • Oversee and manage daily claims activities, approve payments, and review coverage analyses to resolve claims. • Perform monthly reviews to ensure compliance with "Best Practices". Provide coaching and feedback to team members. • Participate in semi-annual department audits and annual compliance audits. • Review performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement. Determine areas of needed improvement and take appropriate action to achieve positive results which enhancing performance at all levels. • Evaluate staffing requirements, and interview, hire, onboard and train new employees. • Resolve customer and agency complaints and answer questions regarding policies and procedures. • Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes. • Implement corporate or departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with company objectives. • Provide an environment that supports positive employee engagement; celebrate success and encourage a team environment. • Provide support and opportunities for self-development of team members. • Address job performance concerns with employees. Provide employee support and work with HR to address performance management. • Evaluate employees' job performance and meet with employees regularly to discuss their progress and address any issues or concerns. • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss goals, objectives, news, and company developments and opportunities • Ability to work in a hybrid working environment, with several days in the office and several days remote, unless an ADA accommodation is needed.
REQUIRED: • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university required or five plus years successful claim supervisory/management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience • If required, appropriate state licensing and certification must be acquired and maintained. • Strong supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. • Excellent oral and written correspondence skills required. • Strong team building skills. • Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
Comprehensive Benefits:
Pay Range: $72,933-$117,613
