About The Role:

We are seeking a Lead Conversational UX Designer to join our design team at PanasonicWELL. In this role, you will focus exclusively on creating customer-centered experiences that are novel, empathetic, and differentiated. We are building the next generation of products and want someone passionate about people, usability, and AI.

Working in close partnership with service design, interaction design, brand systems, and user research, you will be responsible for designing conversational flows and system responses that push an ongoing transformation of our surfaces to deliver elegant, frictionless, and impactful conversational experiences that elevate our brand and service.

PanasonicWELL is able to employ individuals who reside in (or that are willing to relocate to) the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

What You'll Do:
  • Partner with Research, Product, and Legal teams to build a deep understanding and empathy for user problems
  • Ideate with cross-functional teams to define outcomes, experiences, features, and functionality
  • Craft bespoke conversation and dialog flows for a variety of experiences that support family wellness through an AI agent
  • Rapidly iterate on functional prototypes based on user feedback and insights
  • Collaborate with AI developers to align the AI assistant's functionality with conversational design principles and best practices
  • Ensure clarity, tone, and personality align with brand and user expectations
  • Utilize analytics and logs to identify areas of performance improvement or opportunities for enhancements
  • Stay updated with industry trends, frameworks, research, and best practices as the technology evolves
  • Develop and maintain documentation to maintain consistency as the product evolves
  • Design principles for safe, legal, and ethical application of AI assistants in the service of family wellness

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g. Interaction Design, HCI, UX Design)
  • 7+ years of experience in Conversational UX Design
  • Fundamental understanding of Generative AI technology
  • Experience with prompt engineering and conversation flows
  • Proficiency in prototyping for Voice and Hybrid UIs
  • A history of collaborative user research and analysis
  • Empathetic EQ with a strong bias towards collaboration
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Comfort with ambiguity; willing to bring original ideas and fresh approaches to projects
  • Experience leading and conceptualizing several large-scale and small-scale projects simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast, start-up environment
  • Strong ability to communicate and present design rationale to leadership
  • Comfortable working in JIRA and Confluence
  • A healthy portfolio and resume that showcases your creativity and skill
