The Processing Operator will be responsible for the performance, processes, equipment, and operational decisions at line level to achieve targets and coordinate resources as required. The Processing Operator will be first point of contact for any technical issues with production machinery and will be expected to take the lead in repairing mechanical breakdowns.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
Ability to understand, communicate, read, and write basic work-related English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical degree or certifications
3 + years of experience operating and maintaining high-speed productionmachinery in a manufacturing/production environment
Strong understanding of all GMP's, PPE's and quality checks
Forklift operation experience
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
Coordinate a small team of operators and temporary associates to achieve line targets.
Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning out blenders, extruders and hoppers, cleaning the conveyor belts as well as vacuuming excess ingredients around the processingequipment.
Maintain physical inventories of ingredients by completing JDA transactions
Prepare small ingredients for mixing gum.
Move loaded or empty barrels of trim and ingredients weigh and dump ingredients, operate blenders and other processingequipment.
Frequently stage bulk ingredients and ensure the proper functions of the delivery system.
Complete frequent observation of work-in-process and the completion of required recording, such as Quality Control Point sheets.
Competent in JDA and frequently complete transactions to transfer base and flavor ingredients to the proper storage location.
Independently operate processingmachines and produce a quality gum product in a team-based environment.
This position will be required to cross train in various positions in the processingdepartment
Accountable for the performance of several machines, processes, or pieces of equipment.
Assisting operators with daily productions tasks to ensure line targets are met.
