This position requires strong account management, project management and execution skills, an interest in driving earned coverage and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. We'reseeking an adaptable, high-energy candidate with strong communication skills who can provide a high level of client service. This person will be responsible for supporting account performance on several cross-team initiatives with inter-agency management. While not a formal requirement, a working knowledge of the food and beverage industry is a plus.

Responsibilities


    • Work directly with senior level staff to support day-to-day client work on programs, including (but not limited to) news announcements, launches, in-person events and sampling, interviews and seeding programs by contributing to the creation and execution of plans, fielding and responding to inquiries, coordinating interviews, developingQ&As and messaging,and drafting press releases and briefing materials.

    • Manage up, across and down to execute high-quality internal and client deliverables.

    • Demonstrate effective supervisory and task delegation abilities by setting clear expectations and deadlines, providing resources, monitoring progress and quality and providing feedback.

    • Manage multiple simultaneous projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, providing client counsel and ensuring budget and deadline adherence.

    • Contribute to the creation of strategic communications plans that meet client objectives.

    • Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedbackand insights to execute high-quality, client-facing deliverables.

    • Lead comprehensive coverage reporting by preparing accurate client-facing reports and providing thoughtful analysis and feedback on results.

    • Provide cross-team support including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, capturing recaps and action items, compiling media and competitor audits, coordinating pitching, scheduling, and logistics.

    • Execute research to build media lists, industry trend reports, competitor innovations and risk assessments leveraging social media, search engines and media-list building tools such as Cision and Muck Rack.

    • Support reactive and proactive media relations outreach. Existing media relationships is a plus.

    • Demonstrate sound judgment, strong initiative, and creative problem-solving.

    • Clear understanding and application of your client's business including business strategy, industry issues and trends, products and services, key customers, and competitors in the marketplace.

    • Take responsibility for personal growth and improvement of technical and leadership skills.

Basic Qualifications


    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in public relations, preferably in an agency setting

    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study

Preferred Qualifications


    • Past experience supporting food and beverage industry and/or consumer brands.

    • Strong commitment to client excellence, attention to detail and high-quality deliverables.

    • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Problem solver with the ability to nimbly adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to perform stellar work under pressure, think ten steps ahead, be a team player and effectively motivate and manage junior staff to you.

    • Strong writing, editing, strategic thinking and research skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability of effectively interacting with clients and partner agency team members to cultivate strong relationships.

    • Ability to gather and synthesize key information to make decisions and develop recommendations for clients.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop communication programming and implement integrated tactics in collaboration with team members that are junior and senior to you.

    • Ability to develop sharp understanding of the clients' businesses and key stakeholders and apply this lens to all day-to-day work.

    • Stays up to date with emerging trends in popular culture and within the industry with the ability to apply this lens to programming and deliverables you are creating for the client.

$52,000 - $77,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
