Required:

Applicants must have a PhD in mathematics and the ability to teach any course appearing in the regular undergraduate curriculum, including but not limited to probability, statistics, calculus, differential equations, abstract algebra, and real analysis. Teaching and research experience at the university level; administrative experience and committee work at the university level.


Primary Responsibilities:

The faculty member will teach mathematics courses (4/4 course load) at Sul Ross State University at the Eagle Pass campus and work with faculty to ensure that learning objectives are met. The position may become tenure-track if enrollment objectives are met. We expect the faculty member will contribute to the gradual transition of the Eagle Pass campus from a remote campus of Sul Ross State University to a new independent four-year university based in Eagle Pass.


Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.


FILLING THE POSITION WILL BE CONTINGENT UPON STATE APPROPRIATE FUNDS AVAILABILITY. This position is security sensitive.


Other Information:

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. On September 29, 2022, the Regents of Texas State University System (TSUS) announced in Eagle Pass, Texas, that the Sul Ross State University (SRSU) Eagle Pass Campus will be transitioning to a comprehensive four-year university. The TSUS is in the planning stages of constructing a multi-million dollar building on a 100-acre campus in Eagle Pass, Texas, that will be the location of a stand-alone four-year University. The Master plan includes nineteen complexes, three residential living student dormitories that will accommodate one thousand students, a student union, an athletic center, a library, and several academic centers.
