Job Summary

Leads a coordinated, data-informed effort to expand outreach to marginalized populations; creates short-term and long-term strategic outreach plans, and develops and maintains a system-wide program of activities that support equitable access to educational opportunity for students from diverse and disproportionately affected communities throughout Pinal County; and employs onboarding best practices to position Central Arizona College as a leader in enrollment and preparedness goals for the diverse communities with multiple and compound intersectional identities throughout Pinal County and the state of Arizona.

Responsibilities



  • Leads the Outreach staff to create and execute enrollment action plans designed to increase access to educational opportunity for Pinal County, key stakeholders, with an emphasis on underrepresented and disproportionately affected populations and communities within the serving area. This includes training, coaching, supervising, and evaluating the performance of assigned personnel.

  • Develops, implements, and manages an annual operational plan; directs outreach activities for the District; determines most appropriate initiatives and establishes priorities for outreach to high schools and community partner organizations throughout Pinal County; and attends outreach events and other recruiting functions throughout the year.

  • Leads the development and implementation of student journeys for prospective students, admitted student, and new students onboarding through the college CRM and other mediums.

  • Coordinates a collaboration with other student services directors throughout the district to develop both short-term and long-term enrollment management plans with measurable goals and outcomes to assist students in learning and onboarding to the college.

  • Coordinates with the marketing department in the development and implementation of the College's marketing plan for potential students.

  • Cultivates strong working relationships with Institutional Research, the Registrar, Financial Aid, Advising, Marketing, Academics, IT, and external stakeholders to compile, analyze and interpret data.

  • Consults and coordinates with officials from other educational institutions, District administration, staff, and faculty to develop strategy, resolve concerns and implement innovative solutions; consults with students, parents, and high school officials regarding general and specific admissions criteria, problem resolution, and interpretation and explanation of policy.

  • Evaluates and improves the student enrollment experience via the establishment of measurable goals to improve timely, effective, and positive engagement with students and their families throughout their journey through essential College processes such as Admissions, Financial Aid, and Advising.

  • Provides oversight of Early College Programs, including concurrent and Dual Enrollment Programs.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with high school and school district personnel, community-based organizations, business/industry partners, and other key external stakeholders.

  • Manages Department budget and stewardship of College's giveaway items.



  • Attends departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

  • Participates in the recruitment and retention of students.

  • Performs other duties commensurate with functions and level of position or as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree.


EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of applicable experience that can include:



  • Management and supervisory experience.

  • Student outreach or sales experience that includes setting enrollment/sales goals, using data effectively in planning, decision-making, and assessment of outreach/sales strategies and processes

  • Experience using current and emerging communication technologies related to outreach, enrollment, and marketing including CRM systems.

  • Experience working with high school students in the process of selecting and attending college.

  • Higher education enrollment services experience involved in an aspect of onboarding new students.

  • Experience working in community outreach.


SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: Considerable travel required using own means of transportation. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends. This is an in-person position but could be located at any of CAC's campuses. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


    The work is light work. The employee is frequently required to apply 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects. … Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: hearing voices and distinguishing among sounds, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, standing, talking and shouting, and visual acuity in data/observations/operating equipment. Duties performed may cause light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing and sitting. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:


    Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with many and frequent distractions such as noise and interruptions or in congested and occasionally confined work areas with exposure to disagreeable elements. May be required to work evenings and weekends. Travel throughout District required.
