PURPOSE Responsible for the prompt minor repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance of material handling equipment
Job Responsibilities
Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment
Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule
Troubleshoot equipment problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
Provide improvements required to ensure compliance to safety regulation to DC and safety team
Ensure that department is appropriately stocked with part and tools needed to preform their job
Undertakes actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc, on equipment for preventive maintenance purposes
Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs
Modify and tests equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability
Updates and reviews daily maintenance logs
Follows all safety policies and procedures strictly
Job Requirements
2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
Experience
1-2 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment
Machining and fabrication experience helpful
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
Understanding of Safety guidelines
Able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals
Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Ability to work well independently
Physical Environment/Demands
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
