Objectives of this Role:
Look up and wire-up electrical equipment safely.
Handle up to 480 VAC safely.
Specify appropriate wire gauze, fuse size, and wiring connections
Look up and wire-up controls equipment safely.
Handle delicate instruments at low voltages.
Specify signal type, fuse size, excitation power, and connections properly.
Complete design and mechanical buildup of control cabinets and cable support (drilling, mounting, etc.) with power tools.
Document work in the field (labels) and electronically (logs and spreadsheets).
Use specialized equipment like voltmeter and signal generator to troubleshoot electrical issues.
Collaborate with controls engineers to set or modify signal parameters.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Create work orders to ensure understanding of the job and safe working conditions.
Assess the situation and work safely around electronics and chemicals.
Installation requiring specialized tools and equipment.
Research or contact vendors to figure out and properly utilize new and existing equipment.
Documentation of as built or as modified wiring connections.
Documentation of troubleshooting strategies and solutions.
Maintenance and repair that require specialized tools and equipment as well as consulting manuals and customer support.
Provide designs, recommendations, or custom solutions for builds, modifications, and/or repairs.
Provide feedback on improving existing infrastructure.
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
Associates Instrumentation, Process Controls, Equipment Power or related AS degree is preferred
4-10 years: Hands-on experience working with electrical systems such fabrication, maintenance, repair, management of AC/DC power and/or controls.
Those with an AS degree must have at least 3 years of related experience
Shift work 24/7 will be required
Requires knowledge in Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneNote
A valid/clear driver's license is required
