BCAGlobal is at the precipice of a major transformation from a grassroots organization to a systems change organization that seeks to address challenges in food, race, and social justice. The purpose of the Advisory Council is to advocate and support BCA's mission: Our Mission is to empower BIPOC individuals in the community and food system (including the food service industry) through a framework of mindfulness, sustainability, social justice, and food sovereignty and helps forge meaningful connections to further our vision of a beloved community. Together in unity, we will impact the future of culinary diversity, communities of color and food, race and social justice. We are specifically looking for individuals that are leaders in the public/healthcare space.
The role and responsibilities of an Advisor are:
- Participate in quarterly meetings - Take an active role in supporting the BCA mission - Stay current on BCA activities and news - Serve on advisory board for a minimum of one year; revisit and agree upon new term at the conclusion of the one year - Act as a goodwill ambassador of the organization in external settings including social media
- Provide input and feedback to BCA leadership on trends and strategic opportunities
- Work with the other members of the Advisory Council as a think tank to support BCA
- Be willing to open doors and expand circles of influence that would help advance BCA
