As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the development of quality and food safety programs such as SQF, Silliker, SSOP, HACCP and GMP, while leading a team of 3 in our Wisconsin plant.

Responsibilities
  • Directs quality programs and reporting systems for customers, providing leadership and support to meet quality goals.
  • Primary interface and contact point for customers regarding all compliance and food safety related topics. Responsible for working directly with end customers to ensure all documentation required for their specific needs is available and maintained throughout the customer's lifecycle.
  • Responsible for generation and managing all product spec sheets that are provided both internally and to end customers.Responsible for specifying all other food safety and compliance related documentation necessary and required to ensure both compliance for internal use and to meet end customer requirements.
  • Additionally, works directly with either vendors or other internal company stakeholders to obtain documentation necessary to support food safety and compliance record keeping requirements.Oversees local (Kenosha) compliance and in the company's internal Vendor Compliance program. Also responsible for performing all new Vendor Qualification approvals pertaining to food safety and quality compliance.
  • Manages Redzone configuration and security. Primary facilitator of RedZone shop floor productivity system. Creates quality programs to be supported within Redzone and trains all employees on proper use and utilizes.
  • Develops, implements, reviews, maintains, and improves the effectiveness of quality programs such as raw materials, sanitation controls, in-process, and finished product specifications.
  • Leads and is responsible for all aspects of SFSF, SQF and customer audits such as Silliker and Safe Quality Food (SQF).
  • Oversees the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) plan and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure safety of the product we sell.
  • Monitors and conducts HACCP and sanitation training to all employees as appropriate.
  • Manages the team of Quality Assurance Technicians by assessing employee performance, identifying training opportunities, and enforcing disciplinary policies when necessary.
  • Sets the work schedule and prioritizes tasks to ensure adequate staff are available for the required inspection of in process material.
  • Develops and implements product specifications and test procedures regarding product and processes.
  • Identifies problems in manufacturing and implements changes in testing procedures to meet current needs.
  • Assesses defective material, supplies, and returns implementing processes to address disposition.
  • Develops and implements Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures (SSOP).
  • Properly documents and maintains related SSOP for review by third-party auditors, plant management, quality assurance staff and regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for managing the RMA process related to the receipt and disposition of returned goods.
  • Responsible for managing and leading the process of investigating the root cause of quality related product problems and issues. Is the primary investigative source within the local Plant and facilitates the flow of information and data between the technical team, operations, sales, other company locations and the end customer.
  • Manages the local Plant location shelf-life program/warranty for all product lines. Ensures both RM and FG products meet applicable company shelf-life policies and acts, as needed, to maintain compliance.

Qualifications
  • SQF Practitioner certification is required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working with food manufacturing operations and QA programs or related product safety and quality programs.
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of food safety, food microbiology, food processing technology, sanitation practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP principles.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in food science or Biological Sciences is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA Standards
