About Us:

Oruka Therapeutics is developing novel biologics designed to set a new standard for the treatment of chronic skin diseases. Oruka's mission is to offer patients suffering from chronic skin diseases like plaque psoriasis the greatest possible freedom from their condition by achieving high rates of complete disease clearance with dosing as infrequently as one or twice a year. Oruka is advancing a proprietary portfolio of potentially best-in-class antibodies that were engineered by Paragon Therapeutics and target the core mechanisms underlying plaque psoriasis and other dermatologic and inflammatory diseases. Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable SEC Reporting Specialist to play a key role in preparing and filing accurate and timely reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Reporting to the Controller, the SEC Reporting Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP standards, and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEC reporting requirements, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules for SEC filings, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial disclosures.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze financial data, supporting schedules, and disclosures for inclusion in SEC filings.
  • Research and interpret accounting standards, SEC rules, and regulations, ensuring compliance with evolving reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Support the external audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing documentation and support for audit inquiries.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, SEC regulations, and industry best practices, advising management on potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial reporting as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in SEC reporting or related roles, preferably in a publicly traded biotech or life sciences company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of SEC reporting requirements, U.S. GAAP principles, and financial statement presentation.
  • Proficiency in SEC reporting software (e.g., Workiva, SEC Edgar) and ERP systems (NetSuite).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and technical accounting guidance.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with XBRL tagging and filing preferred.
