Job Description:

Velocity Building Technical Services provides expertise in Test and Balance, Building tune-up, Controls Commissioning, Retro-Cx, Fire-Life-Safety, Sound and Vibration, Indoor Air Quality, Hood certification, Energy Audits, Performance and Function checks, Special Tests, and Procedures and Engineering design, management, and implementation for clients throughout Washington and Oregon. Consultation services are available across the United States. Velocity LLC is a subsidiary of Hermanson Company.

The Role:

This person will help support the Project Managers, field, and the salespeople. Responsibilities including but not limited to customer service, general clerical duties, office organization and clerical support of the PM's and Salespeople.

Responsibilities:
  • Opening projects once they have been awarded.
  • Creating job books for field turnovers
  • Assist with site specific safety plans.
  • Permit assistance
  • Basic Tech support for field and office.
  • Provides general office housekeeping.
  • Bi-weekly audits of office supplies/needs.
  • Shipping and receiving of packages to and from the office.
  • Manages and maintains ALL office equipment / machines.
  • Creating and updating job folders
  • Filling out subcontract request forms
  • Compiling closeout packages upon project completion (O&Ms, warranty letters, as-builts, etc).
  • General support for both office and field such as:
  • Gathering and generating submittal packages
  • Processing purchase orders
  • Journal adjustments
  • Updating Stat Shortcuts/Executive Summaries
  • Putting in print requests for the field
  • Filling out expense reports for both field and office employees
  • Setup and track per diem/subsistence payments
  • Track and update procurement log

Qualifications:
  • The qualified candidate must have at least 3 years progressive experience in performing duties and responsibilities similar to those mentioned above. In addition, the candidate should:
  • Have a strong motivational fit for mechanical systems, design, and construction.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong organization skills.
  • Possess good computer skills, including MS Office and being able to navigate databases, enterprise systems and online content with ease.
  • Experience in a fast-paced business environment is preferred.
  • The successful candidate should have the ability to quickly learn Hermanson Company's processes and procedures.

  • This position is required to support field personnel and service our customers on projects. Depending on project requirements this may require full time presence on the site and in some cases, presence before and after the project scheduled hours. Flexibility on hours and location of work is dependent on project requirements as determined by your supervisor.
  • This position requires the ability to walk and maintain balance over rough, icy, or muddy ground, climb stairs and ladders, work safely at heights without fear, and to work effectively while exposed to the weather for long periods.

Education:
  • Must have the educational credentials to do the compositional and computational aspects of the job (at least a high school degree/GED, with additional education being desirable).
