Kelly Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Design Engineer specialized in Mechanical Final Assembly to join our client in Cleveland, OH. This is a long-term contract role with full benefits including PTO and 401K. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on final assembly processes, and experience in designing machinery for heavy-duty applications. This position requires expertise in 3D design, project management, and direct customer interaction.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop machinery for final assembly processes, including lift, assist, and tooling for Electric Vehicles.
Utilize Pro E or PTC (2 years minimum experience) for 3D modeling and drafting, with proficiency in other 3D software considered.
Apply mechanical design principles to ensure robust and efficient machinery performance.
Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and provide effective solutions.
Incorporate pneumatic circuits into machine designs to optimize functionality.
Utilize automotive industry knowledge to enhance design solutions and meet industry standards.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to validate and optimize assembly designs.
Utilize fastening techniques effectively to ensure structural integrity and reliability.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering with direct customer interaction.
Strong proficiency in Pro E or PTC, with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Experience with other 3D software will be considered.
Extensive experience in 3D design and drafting, with a thorough understanding of mechanical design principles.
Demonstrated expertise in project management, with a track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion.
Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and their integration into machine designs.
Familiarity with the automotive industry, particularly in final assembly processes, is highly desirable.
Experience in conducting finite element analysis (FEA) for assembly designs is a wish.
