Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Purchasing and Scheduling Specialist

Reports To: Purchasing and Scheduling Manager

Summary:

The Purchasing and Scheduling Specialistreports to thePurchasing and Scheduling Manager and is responsible for handling varying aspects of Production scheduling and purchasing. Other responsibilities include:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Scheduling:
  • Determine and enter ship date for all incoming orders (daily)
  • Generate all work orders for production.
  • Inventory control (Adjustments/ Accuracy)
  • Communicate current lead time.
  • Responds to requests for lead time and update orders.
  • Communicates with department managers.

Purchasing:
  • Communicate with vendors regarding all orders and requests.
  • Purchase supplies and material for sales orders.
  • Adjust any receiving discrepancies and invoicing discrepancies.

• Monitors inventory levels.

ATTENDANCE:

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet Software; Manufacturing Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Inventory Software; Order Processing Systems; Project Management Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint); and Publisher software.
