LearnWell is currently looking for our next creative and passionate teacher to fill a part-time or full-time school year teaching position in Elgin, IL. We would love to collaborate with you and help more kids journey towards their full potential. The certified teacher will work in a unique psychiatric health facility and treatment center; which involves working with adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 7 to 9 students; in a small group setting
Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
**This position includes a $1,000.00 sign on bonus! $500.00 bonus paid out after teacher's 30 days of employment and then the remaining $500.00 paid after 90 days of employment.**
Position entails a 20 hours or 40 hours a week commitment, Monday through Friday based on candidate's preference with paid admin time it can wrap around classes. Qualifications:
B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
LBS1 Certification is required and State Teaching Certification
Comfortable working with adolescents
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of subject matter relevant to students need
