Job Description:

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.


The Project Tender Manager is a key support function to the Director of Tender Management and overall US & Canada Project team which is focused on providing services to customers who are building new or expanded energy, industrial, mining or government facilities. The position is responsible for managing responses to logistics cost and service details to support proposals provided to our Project Logistics customers. Assist to drive new business to JAS by providing best procurement results and technical responses geared towards growth plans in place and to support other JAS Project offices.



Essential Functions





  • Manage daily tender management process, working with Tender Analysts to ensure proposal requests are assigned, receipt confirmed, RFP activity is logged and responded to in a timely manner.

  • Complete any proposals / tenders as assigned to the Project Tender Manager directly:

    • Development of response format/pricing matrix/responding to queries as well as timely submission of RFI, RFP and RFQ to customers

    • Execute procurement activity

    • Accumulate all data and compile into a final proposal for the customer

    • Prepare both commercial and technical parts or responses as required

    • Record key tender information in the Proposal Log

    • Follow up with internal account/proposal on status of customer response to proposal



  • When needed for responses, distribute tasks to internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and review/validate information received from the SMEs

  • Help with updating sub-contractor data base

  • Oversee the maintenance of tender files on shared drive and technical library database

  • Participate in subcontractor meetings as requested

  • Participate in customer meetings as requested

  • Assist in the developing and enhancing pricing processes, tools, forms, and methodology.

  • Assist Tender Director or Head of Projects with special projects.

  • Perform other position related duties as specified by management.

  • Ensure adherence to all tender and other company policies.

  • Provide high-quality support to the overall Project team in all its activities

  • Collect best practice examples for continuous improvement

  • Support market intelligence on competitors pricing, capabilities, facilities, client base, products, and services for competition analysis

  • Ensure post bid analysis to be performed by bid owners for all bids, both successful and

unsuccessful Tenders. Ensure tender feedback is shared with relevant functions in the organization.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment to achieve results, or independently with self-direction




Education And Experience





  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Economics or Business, or equivalent experience in logistics, transportation or international business preferred

  • 5 years of experience in pricing and tender management related to freight forwarding or other transportation services

  • Previous work with Capital Project Planning and Logistics a plus

  • Should have a good understanding of how a construction project executes and its special logistical needs such as but not limited to heavy haul, breakbulk ocean transportation and terminal operations




Environment



100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.


Travel may be required in support of the position's responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds .
