Position: Sr. Director Enterprise Applications



Department: Information Technology



Work Location: Dallas, TX or Arlington, TN Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)



Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.




What you will be doing:




The Senior Director, Enterprise Applications will initially work with the Transformation Office to transform the current on-premises Oracle ERP to a cloud-based Oracle version. They will then transition to lead the application development team to deliver various projects, develop standard processes for operations to follow, and integrate them into the workflow with improved automation and observability. They will also set standards for application developments with governance incorporated into the design ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.




  • Lead, mentor, and encourage an impactful application development team to engage with the business and identify new functionality, develop compelling business cases, prioritize projects, and develop plans that maximize return on investment for the company.

  • Ensure that all application development initiatives are well led and delivered to meet expectations on functionality, timeliness, and cost.

  • Ensure the development team follows best practices, coding standards, and agile methodologies.

  • Partner with internal customers to develop training and deployment plans sought at maximizing both user adoption and realization of business benefits.

  • Develop, implement, and supervise software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Own the development and implementation of software solutions, data analytics, workflow automation, and integrated systems to improve operational efficiency for internal and external customers.

  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.







Skills needed to be successful in this role:






  • Proficiency in aligning technology initiatives with business outcomes, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Outstanding negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levels.

  • Strong collaborative abilities, skilled in crafting consensus among diverse groups.

  • Deep understanding of various software development lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.

  • Experienced mentor, capable of adapting to rapidly changing environments.







Minimum Qualifications:






  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, and/or equivalent years of experience.

  • 5 - 10 years equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years dedicated to enterprise architecture.

  • 5 + years in managing enterprise portfolios and project planning.

  • A decade of IT-related experience, focusing on application management, as well as business and system analysis/design.

  • Experience leading complex, global, critically important ERP applications.

  • Experience leading an Oracle Fusion migration project.

  • Strong Knowledge of OCI Integration technologies.

  • Dedicated with ability to lead a team of diverse technical skills and interact with senior business and IT leadership.

  • Excellent leadership level communication skills.

  • Functional knowledge of Supply Chain, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Retire and Report business processes.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
