Job Summary


Vertiv is hiring a Project Manager in the Energy Management System division to deliver power management and control systems to our clients. The position, based in Anderson, SC, has cross-functional responsibilities and owns all aspects of project delivery. The successful candidate is a good communicator, well organized, manages financial information, and possess technical acumen. The position provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development with a growing team. The PM is responsible for interpreting customer requirements, creating technical documentation and diagrams, ordering parts, coordinating assembly of hardware, overseeing coordinating development, managing delivery, maintaining project budgeting and financial projections, managing project changes in scope and budget.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects from inception to on-site commissioning and client hand over.
  • Defining the scope of projects in collaboration with senior management.
  • Creating detailed work plans which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Monitor progress of projects whilst making any adjustments necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Managing day-to-day operational aspects on multiple projects.
  • Allocating resources and assigning responsibilities for the development of detailed software code for automation, control, and energy management data acquisition applications.
  • Ensuring projects are completed and adhere to strict budgets and maintaining accurate project financial records.
  • Updating project tracking documentation and variations are kept up to date for ongoing reviews.
  • Providing regular reports on progress to senior management.
  • Ensuring project documentation is completed against strict timeframes to conform to client standards.
  • Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction on project completion.
  • Evaluating each project's performance and developing lessons learned for use on future projects.
  • Manage team of System Engineers.

Requirements:

  • Must have ability to communicate effectively, including conducting effective meetings and presentations.
  • 3 plus years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, data center infrastructure and commissioning processes is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a matrixed environment.
  • Construction project management is a plus.
  • Critical infrastructure and data center expertise is a plus.
  • Knowledge across a range of control hardware and software PLC systems is a plus.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, computing, or related field required. MBA preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant experience in an electrical engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Be efficiently organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Physical and Environmental Demands:
    • Light Lifting (5 Ibs.-25 Ibs.)
    • Frequent Standing
    • Noise Level (Medium / High need to shout to be heard)
    • Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors)
    • Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.)


Travel Required:

  • 25%+ of travel required.
