The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Pullman, WA seeks to fill a full-time continuous career track (clinical track) or permanent tenure track faculty position in equine internal medicine. The position is available immediately. Salary range is $145,000 - $180,000 depending on qualifications and level of experience and includes a generous benefits package. This position may be eligible for an additional stipend based on clinical service. The Department is open to novel position structures, including partial/hybrid appointments, which could allow for private sector or other activities.




Summary of Duties:


The successful applicant will provide clinical service within the equine medicine service while providing clinical and didactic instruction of professional veterinary students, interns, and residents. Opportunities may exist for scholarship/research within the candidate's area of interest. Successful applicants should be able to effectively communicate and work collegially and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds and demonstrate a commitment and relevant ability to successfully advocate for diversity and values of diversity and inclusion.




Required Qualifications:


The candidate must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) degree or foreign equivalent degree (i.e., BVSc), and be board-eligible in Large Animal Internal Medicine (LAIM) by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), or board-certified, by the date of hire.



Considerations regarding faculty track and rank will be determined based on the interests and qualifications of the candidate, as will division of effort. For tenure track consideration, candidates must demonstrate a significant record of scholarship. Regardless of faculty track, candidates for Associate Professor rank should additionally have evidence of a higher level of experience and expertise in the provision of outstanding clinical service, clinical teaching, and/or research/scholarship.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
