Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Centeroffers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

The Focus of Mobile Crisis Recovery Team:
The Mobile Crisis Recovery Team provides services to those within our community. The purpose of this team is to meet people where they are, help them with their crisis, and help them get linked to an outpatient clinic for further treatment & resources. This is a 100% community-based team. Being community-based allows our team the freedom to tailor their approach to the needs of our clients and the challenges they face within their lives & communities.
The Clinician provides crisis intervention and support services to clients in the community in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
What to Expect:
The Clinicians start each shift at the Crisis Intervention Unit or the Adult Addictions Clinic (location based on assigned schedule), visits are completed in person in the community. The clinicians working on this team are paired with a certified peer recovery specialist while working with individuals in the community. The Clinician's caseload is based off the current needs of those receiving services and in crisis.This is a grant funded position.
Am I Qualified?
Master's degree in Human Services field with a minimal of temporary license.
Active plan to earn full licensure (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
This is a grant funded position.
Provides crisis intervention and support services to psychiatric consumers of all ages.
Conducts crisis mental health and substance abuse screenings for consumers and family members.
Evaluates psychosocial status and needs for the development of an appropriate treatment/crisis plan.
Provides daily living skills education when appropriate.
Serves as a referral source for consumers, working cooperatively with community resources/agencies.
Maintains appropriate documentation for all crisis and case management services, including but not limited to, social, psychiatric and medical histories and presenting problems with complete mental status exam.
Provides psychiatric consultation to Eskenazi Health Emergency Room and Medical/Surgical Unit of Eskenazi Health
Conducts screening for suicide and homicide risk.
Screens for acute care services, including Inpatient, Subacute Stabilization and Day Treatment.
Determines level of care for consumers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of consumer served
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
Advanced critical thinking regarding assessment, crisis intervention, within a strength-based framework
Practice in mental health and addictions treatment
Training in the use and side effects of psychotropic medications
Ability to gather, interpret and analyze client data
Experience in providing risk assessments
Ability to provide case presentation to medical staff
CPR, CPI and basic first aid
