About the Department
Research technician needed in a dynamic neurophysiological lab. This project involves high density multi-electrode array recordings and stimulation from motor and premotor cortical sites in monkeys performing orofacial as well as complex reaching and grasping movements. Experiments seek to investigate spatio-temporal patterning in single unit and local field potential activity that encodes different aspects of these movements. These experiments also seek to develop decoding algorithms for possible application in brain-machine interfaces. A strong mathematical, computational, or engineering background is also desirable.

Job Summary
The job provides technical support activities related to scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the installation, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Provides technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).
