The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the following:
All of the processing necessary to complete the weekly payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, special deductions and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws and Company rules and as directed by the Payroll Supervisor.
Communication with Store Managers and Directors regarding any discrepancies identified in the payroll system or payroll processes
Ensuring all approved hours worked are processed into the payroll system
Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as company policy and procedures regarding payroll and payroll-related activities
Review and Set-up of Garnishments in the payroll system
Audit payroll files prior to submission
Ensuring that systems and processes correctly compute and record time, earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, garnishments and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability through detailed reconciliations and testing
Develops and maintains effective relationships with all vendors impacting payroll processing including the payroll system vendor,
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting or other analytical field
Experience:
2+ years in Payroll or payroll related field required, with some prior U.S. multi-state payroll experience
Strong understanding of payroll processes for multi-unit retail
Skills:
Strong payroll system skills (ADP and Dayforce)
Strong Excel skills working with large datasets
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in oral and written communications with multiple levels inside the organization and outside the organization
Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic environment
Bilingual (Spanish) is required
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $21.48 to $27.00 per hour. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills.
