AVI Foodsystems is looking for a unique driver of cultural transformation as the Director of Culinary Operations to lead our culinary team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. The salary for this position is up to $135,000.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for cultural transformation of the culinary department
Lead and develop the kitchen, preparation, and presentation of foods by chefs, cooks and other team members, overseeing that all the food items are prepared as determined by our culinary standards, guidelines, and procedures
Develop culinary leaders to be qualified and effective in skills and behaviors
Guardian of learning and process improvement
Model of a healthy culture
Visible action and presence within operations
Build a culture of collaboration within food services and amongst hospital administration and leaders.
Agent of self-awareness
Oversees and ensures we achieve and exceed Press Ganey results for patient programs, retail programs, revenue and services
Lead high-volume catering environment
Ensure and maintain compliance with the safety and sanitation program
Requirements:
Healthcare Executive Chef experience in a high-reliability organization
Ivy League healthcare academic leadership preferred
Lean process improvement experience preferred
Proven track record in managing more than $10 million of managed volume
Compassionate leadership skills with the ability to deliver results in a process-focused environment
Creativity and passion to lead our team to produce innovative and inspiring culinary partnerships with our clients and community
Proven experience in managing high-volume level projects
Procurement and inventory experience required
High-level integrity and commitment to standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to make data-led decisions and make operational decisions
Passion towards safety and sanitation
Ability to create a talented staff to provide consistency in all food and service functions
Ability to provide a high level of customer service
Certified Executive Chef preferred
Education:
Associate's degree in Culinary Arts (AAS) is required
Certified Dietary Manager Certification a plus
