Job Description:

One of our clients in the Bay Area is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist or Payroll Manager support their team for a 3-4-month engagement. This hands-on role involves managing payroll operations without accounting month-end duties. The successful candidate will play a crucial ensuring smooth payroll processing for our multistate workforce of approximately 500 employees. This is a bi-weekly payroll cycle, and the ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills to address staff inquiries promptly. The role encompasses processing both salaried and hourly payroll, as well as handling payroll tax reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a multistate workforce.
  • Execute bi-weekly payroll cycles accurately and on time.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries regarding payroll matters, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Handle payroll tax reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll data at all times.
  • Participate in payroll audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
  • Provide support for special payroll projects as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • Strong understanding of multistate payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling payroll information.
