Description:

We seek a highly skilled Data Engineer to join a long-term program supporting an Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This critical role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-wide systems and application software, addressing complex data flow challenges and hardware/software compatibility issues. The successful candidate will mentor less-experienced team members and potentially lead technical tasks or teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and modify enterprise-wide systems and applications to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Develop, manage, and troubleshoot complex data flows; enhance existing data pipelines to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Address and resolve complex hardware and software compatibility issues, with a focus on interface design considerations.
  • Employ advanced analytical skills to innovate, solve problems, and implement application debugging and testing protocols.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on project and system execution.
  • Contribute to technical documentation efforts, providing expert input on security, architecture, and implementation guides.
  • Prepare detailed reports on analytical findings and project progress, ensuring clear communication of technical and non-technical aspects.
  • Offer guidance and leadership to less-experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java/J2EE, C, C++, SQL, JavaScript, PHP, and ECL.
  • Extensive experience with Linux servers and cloud infrastructure platforms.
  • Security Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
  • Proven ability to write comprehensive technical documentation related to security, architecture, and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of database methodologies, with expertise in SQL querying and Elasticsearch.
  • Robust data analytics skills, including detailed data analysis and metric generation to support system users.
  • Experience with data visualization and routine data validation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to support, monitor, and configure system processes effectively.

Optional Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in technical processing and vetting requests for analytical comparisons.
  • Knowledge of clustered computing environments and big data processing, particularly within screening and vetting missions.
  • Proficiency in using HPCC-ECL and building automated data processes with MySQL databases and Pentaho workflows.
  • Expertise in data visualization and validation for large-scale information systems.
  • Experience coordinating screening and vetting entity resolution among project teams.
