Job Summary

As the BI Developer, you will aid in the conversion from Cognos to Power BI, change code, and debug/test code as well.

Job Description



We are looking for an experienced BI Developer to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, fully remote 12 month+ contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cognos development and Power BI development, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for data analysis. We are looking for a candidate who has experience converting clients from Cognos to Power BI.



What You'll Do



  • Modify transformer models as per the business requirements


  • Modify existing reports and develop new ones to meet business needs


  • Pull in an extra column or extra dimension in a cube to enhance data analysis and reporting


  • Manage report prompts to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval


  • Collaborate with the team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications


  • Maintain and improve existing Cognos frameworks and ensure data accuracy and integrity


  • Provide technical support for the Cognos environment and troubleshoot any issues that arise


  • Continually improve your knowledge and skills in Cognos development to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies





What You'll Need



Required:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cognos development


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Power BI development


  • Experience on projects migrating from Cognos to Power BI


  • Proficient in modifying transformer models, reports, and managing report prompts


  • Experience in pulling in an extra column or extra dimension in a cube


  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle complex data


  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues


  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting


  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred





Physical Demands



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards


  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.


  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
