The Position


We are seeking a highly-skilled embedded software engineer to join our team with a focus on inertial sensor firmware development. As an embedded software engineer, you will help develop and maintain a shared code library as well as device-specific code for a wide array of products. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to maintain current products and develop firmware for our next generation of inertial sensors. You will test and validate firmware to ensure it meets system requirements and performance standards, troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise, and contribute to product lifecycle maintenance.


The position requires a strong background in embedded software design, development, and testing, with experience working with low-level hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, DMA, etc.) and debugging using standard tools (JTAG, oscilloscope, signal analyzer, etc.)



Primary Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain firmware for inertial sensors


  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop new products and maintain existing products.


  • Test and validate firmware to ensure it meets system requirements and performance standards


  • Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise


  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for firmware development





Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field


  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development


  • Experience with modern C++ (11/17/20)





Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read, interpret, and debug schematics


  • Experience with common embedded software development tools (e.g. Subversion, IAR Compiler, JTAG)


  • Familiarity with STM32 microcontrollers


  • A strong math background (linear algebra, signals and systems, etc.)


  • Experience programming in RTOS and non-RTOS environments


  • Experience with inertial sensors (e.g. accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers)


  • Experience with inertial sensor applications (e.g. robotics, UAVs, navigation)


  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team


  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
