The Opportunity

What You'll Contribute

  • As a an engineering leader, you will have an opportunity to build a world-class engineering team to empower our product and engineering organization to innovate at the speed of business. You are responsible for attracting, growing, and sustaining the best engineering talent globally.
  • You will bring to the team a proven track record of building an engineering organization through establishing mature software engineering practices, building strong relationship with DevOps enablement team, architecture, product and engineering, global technology services, cyber-security, education, professional services organizations, and other teams.
  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing platform wide authorization functionality leveraging RBAC, PBAC and ABAC models.
  • You will need to use data to inform decision making. Analyze data for trends and potential pain points and use this to prioritize and inform how to improve your engineering product.
  • You will manage communication with various stakeholders and executive leadership to ensure alignment.
  • You will facilitate and moderate tough discussions to keep programs on track and raise issues when needed.
  • You will develop reports/dashboards and communicate on a regular cadence to relevant stakeholders to keep everyone informed.
  • You need to think strategically about how to solve root problems in a scalable and repeatable way to help improve FICO's product engineering globally.
  • You need to gather feedback from key stakeholders and provide recommendations on the best way to advance your objectives.
  • You need to act as an agent for change within the organization to build strong teams and advance FICO's platform first agenda.

What We're Seeking

  • Ideal candidate leads by example to embrace DevOps culture and mindset including culture of psychological safety, empowerment, experimentation, collaboration, co-create, continuous improvement, disagree and commit, and outcome over output.
  • Strong understanding of IAM principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Expertise in industry-standard IAM technologies, including Microsoft AD/Azure AD, Okta, Ping Identity, SailPoint, ForgeRock, etc.
  • Familiarity with security protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect), encryption techniques
  • Strong development background with identity federation and RBAC/ABAC/PBAC
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and automation tools for security operations.
  • Working knowledge of network security concepts and infrastructure.
  • Strong background in application architecture development.
  • Must-be a highly technical and hands-on software engineering practitioner who can lead the engineering team with confidence and competency.
  • Expert in cloud technologies, strong experience and knowledge in developing and deploying cloud applications and enterprise platforms using Azure Cloud, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong experience with Agile software development, including Scrum and other methodologies. JIRA experience is a plus.
  • Experience with gRPC APIs, Kafka or Apache Pulsar, GitHub and other DevOps tools, AWS EKS, Spring Framework, Spring Boot MicroServices, and Spring Cloud Stream is a plus.
  • Certifications in Kubernetes, AWS, Java, and other related technologies are highly preferred.
  • Experience working asynchronously in a remote, distributed team. Experience leading global teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with clear verbal communication as well as written communication skills.
  • Collaborative style: partners well with cross-functional teams solve hard problems and to complete complex deliverables with quality and business outcome.
  • Ability to work across organizations with product management, architecture, product engineering, cyber security, UX, global technology services, legal, education and professional services.
  • Strong on influencing and relationship building while exceptional in conflict management skills.
  • Experience in software development, engineering, product management or program management, or equivalent experience with a proven ability to lead product and engineering organization.
  • People management experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Working experience of You-Build-it-You-Run-it model for PaaS is highly preferred.
  • Analytics and financial industry background is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in highly related field.
  • Advanced degree a plus.

  • The targeted base pay range for this role is: $161,000 to $253,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
