The Campus Auxiliary teams promote student, faculty, and staff excellence by providing efficient, integrated business services that elevate the entire campus community and strengthen IU¿s reputation.
Campus Auxiliaries include IU Dining and Hospitality (Residential Dining and Retail, including all dining within the IMU, the Biddle Hotel, and IU Catering), IU Warehouse and IU Surplus, the offices of Bus, Fleet, Parking, and Transportation Demand Management, Housing Operations, Early Childhood Learning, Document Services, and Campus Mail.
Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
Works closely with Director of Marketing, Marketing Team, and other Campus Auxiliaries team members to bring creative ideas to life through graphic and web design, engaging copy, and social media.
Be comfortable using Adobe Creative Cloud programs within IU brand guidelines.
Conducts research (existing and previous designs, peer benchmarking, brainstorming with marketing and auxiliaries' staff) to inform digital and print designs that clearly communicate messaging to the appropriate audiences.
Be an excellent, communicator who provides timely production updates and uses critiques as growth opportunities.
Creates a variety of digital and print designs for campaigns, signage, social media, posters, and more.
Participates in various meetings, critiques, and brainstorming sessions as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
Experience in graphic and web design, social media, and project management
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required
Possess a valid United States driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
SKILLS
Required
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (CC): InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Experience creating designs for campaigns and social media
Understanding of effective design principles and typography
Professionalism, dependability, and respect for others
Exceptional written/communication and knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style
Strong decision-making skills

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
